There were birthday celebrations at Cylch Ti a Fi Hywel Dda last week to mark the playgroup’s 25th anniversary.
The Cylch Ti a Fi was set up in Whitland in January 1995 when it was felt that there was a need for pre-nursery school children to come together to play and sing through the medium of Welsh.
“It is lovely to see the weekly session still being well supported after 25 years,” said Jayne Williams of the playgroup which meets every Friday morning during term time at the Cylch Meithrin located at Ysgol Llys Hywel.
“The purpose of the Cylch Ti a Fi is to offer parents and carers an opportunity to enjoy playing with their children, to socialise over a cuppa and share experiences in an informal Welsh atmosphere,” she continued.
“It is a great opportunity to use the Welsh language if you are a Welsh learner and gives non-Welsh speaking families the opportunity to use Welsh for the first time with their children.
“We were so pleased that Dewin and Sali Mali were able to join us for the birthday.”
