Former Borderers' players are expected to turn out in force for a reunion of the Whitland RFC Old Players Association tomorrow (Saturday, April 14), when Whitland will be home to Llangennech.

Association secretary Paul Kirk who is organising the reunion said: "Since the association was former earlier in the season, the membership numbers have increased steadily and we now have over 140 members in the UK and overseas.

"It would be a real achievement to reach our target of 150 members before the end of the season.

"Anyone who has played for the Whitland club at any level is entitled to join as membership is not restricted to former first team players. It is open to all former players regardless of which team they played for or the number of games played and includes former players from the Whitland ladies team.

"An annual dinner is being arranged in May and a golf day is planned in the Summer. On Saturday, we will meet in the Whitland clubhouse at 1 pm, when members will enjoy a buffet lunch and a bus will take the former players to and from the ground for the match

"There is a joining fee of £20 for the association, to include the price of an Association tie and the annual membership is £10."

Any former player wishing to join or to find out more about the association can contact Paul Kirk on 01267 237058 or 07807 852994.
