Today (Friday) sees our First Team play in the annual Welsh Team Championships. The event brings together the best six scratch golfers from clubs from all over Wales, with 32 qualifying for the three-day event which is one of the highlights of the Welsh amateur golf calendar.

Trefloyne start their campaign against Swansea based Pontadawe Golf Club at 1 pm and will be supported by many members of the club who intend making the trip to local club Milford Haven, who are currently hosting their centenary year.

Team captain Gavin Scotcher has spent many seasons molding and encouraging the youth of Trefloyne and has been a pivotal influence in getting the team where it is today.

Trefloyne Manor owner, Kim Beynon, expressed his delight at the team's achievements over the past two seasons and has been impressed with the amount of young talent coming through the Academy, with many more of the Junior First Team knocking at the door for selection next season.

The team play a practise round on Thursday and will be ably assisted throughout the week by six of the Academy who have been selected as caddies for the weekend.

Club captain Mike Allen has called on all members to get behind the team through this momentus occasion and to let the Pro-Shop know should anyone wish to head over to Milford to watch the games unfold.

Everyone at the Manor would like to wish the lads all the best and look forward to an exciting weekend of high class golf.
