Captains Mike Allen, Anne Morgan and George Taylor welcomed in excess of 100 competitors to their annual Captains Day at Trefloyne on Saturday.

The day welcomed members, guests and past captains to come and take part in a Stableford golf competition on a beautiful sunny day. Anne and Mike had it all planned, the golf followed by entertainment from two of Wales' premier singers, Bethany and Jemma Honey, followed by DJ 'Mike"'just the finish the night off!

THE GOLF

With tee times available from 8 pm, the golf course was full for the majority of the day, with competitors all in high spirits and basking in sunshine ready to take on the challenge and come out as the overall winner.

Nearest the pin sponsored by Tarmac on the third hole, nearest the line sponsored by Carew Quarries on the 10th hole and longest drive by Milforge Garages on the 17 th, added to the excitement of the competition.

Results: Best member (male) - Sam James; best member (female) - Vicky Da; past captain (male) - Meurig Evans; past captain (female) - Chris Collinson; best junior - Ellis Morgan; nearest the line (men) - Mr. Chislett; nearest the line (ladies) - Sue Crowley; longest drive (ladies) - Liz Crockford; longest drive (men) - Ian Lawrence; nearest the pin - Mr. Chislett.

THE BIT AFTER

Whilst the golf should be the main focus, Captains Day at Trefloyne is all about the party! With food ready and waiting for players when leaving the course and the entertainment starting from 6 pm, solo singer Bethany got everyone in the party mood before the presentation to the winners and raffle at 7.30 pm.

Once the formalities were over, Jemma Honey, returning once again for Captains Day, kicked off the evening's entertainment with all the classics to get the party into full swing. So much so, captain Mike Allen has been in hospital with a snapped ligament and is now in plaster for the next five weeks - that'll teach him to take on Joan and Anne on the dance floor!

The day was a great success, raising in excess of £600 for the captains' charities, Cancer Research and Tenby Lifeboat.
