Holders Whitland continued the defence of the coveted Harrison-Allen Bowl with a nail-biting two runs win away to Narberth.
The visitors batted first and scored 177-6, a total which owed much to a third wicket stand of 62 between Kevin Pearce and Jonathan Thomas.
Pearce struck eight boundaries in his innings of 63 and Thomas found the boundary three times and cleared it twice in his knock of 41.
Ben Quartermaine picked up two of the wickets to fall.
Narberth were in the hunt right up to the last over, but were restricted to 174-9, despite a gutsy and unbroken last wicket stand of 18 between Matthew Johns and Ben Quartermaine, who finished on 44no, with three 6s and three 4s.
Earlier Kyle Quartermaine set the foundation for the run chase with a fine 50 and Richard Adams chipped in with 20.
Iestyn Scourfield took 3-23, David Dunfee 3-51 and Mark Lee also collected two wickets.
Carew had a five wickets win away to Cresselly after limiting the hosts to a total of 152-8, as all-rounder Rhys Davies took 3-15.
Simon Cole had a cultured 48no in the Cresselly total.
Restored to their opening berths, Ian Sefton and Nick Scourfield gave last season's finalists the ideal start with a first wicket stand of 65, with Sefton scoring 48 and Scourfield 37.
Left-hander Brian Hall maintained the momentum with 27.

Saundersfoot had an unassailable total of 207-1 at home to Lamphey as Davi Davies had an outstanding innings of exactly 100no with 10 fours and four 6s.
He was supported by another attacking batsman, Nick Cope, in a hard-hitting knock of 79, including six 4s and fours 6s.
In reply, Lamphey were shot out for just 55 as Danny Caine took 3-8, with David Davies, James Caine and Nick Cope each picking up two wickets.
Hook were bowled out for 106, chasing a total of 122-9 posted by the visitors Johnston, for whom Chris Goodridge scored 44 and Paul Hood 22.
Dave Hopkins took 4-31 and Nathan Banner 3-21.
Although Dave Hopkins followed up his bowling with a spitited 42, supplemented by Jamie Phelps with 34, Paul Hood had a match-winning spell of 5-28, including a hat-trick in his last over, backed up by Lee Summons with 3-27.
Lawrenny won by six wickets away to Burton, who were dismissed for 99 as Brad Nacdermott Jenkins took 4-28 and Ben Cole 2-19.
Phill Sutton had a battling innings of 31 for Burton and Richard Jones scored 21.
The in-form Andrew Cole hit seven fours in his 55no and he was supported by Hugh Griffiths with 24.
James Scale took 2-6 for Burton.
Langwm won by seven wickets at home to Llanrhian, who had scored 151-5, after Ben Jones scored 72, Geraint Morris 36 and Luke Jones 20.
Steve Mills took 4-25 and then showed his batting qualities as he scored 58 in support of an innings of 71 by Matthew Kiff.
Luke Jones took 3-36 for the visitors.
Consistent batting enabled Neyland to reach a total of 158-2 away to Pembroke as Ashley Sutton led the way with 59no, supported by Nick Koomen with 32no to follow on an innings of 31 by Paul Murray and 29 by Andrew Miller.
In reply, Pembroke were limited to a total of 102-9, with Andrew Hay top scoring with 25.
Andrew Miller, Gary Lloyd and Anton John each picked up two wickets and there were also three run outs.
Kilgetty travelled to St. Ishmaels with 10 players as skipper Ian Poole took some of the younger players in the side to North Wales to represent Pembrokeshire in a cricket festival.
The visitors managed to reach a respectable total of 99-7 against First Division opposition, after Christian Phillips scored 24 and Jake Marsh 23. Danny Flynn and Andrew Pawlett each took two of the wickets to fall.
In reply, Tish scored 100 without loss to win by 10 wickets, with Steve Harley 58no and Andrew Palmers 27no.
