Light winds greeted the sailors in Tenby on Saturday afternoon, when five dinghies were launched for the races, with one race being started, but cut short after the first lap.

The winner was Ted in his Osprey, followed by Jaime and Dan in second and third.

Tuesday should have been the first mid-week race, but it was cancelled due to high winds and rain.

Racing continues tomorrow (Saturday), 5 pm start, and Tuesday at 6.30 pm.

Juniors

Due to high winds on Wednesday evening, the ribs took a number of youngsters over to to Monkstone Beach to do a beach clean.

COMMODORE’S QUIZ

The Commodore’s Quiz and League was held last Saturday, with seven teams entering this time, two of them being new. There are now 12 teams that take part, some more regular than others.

It is never too late to join in the league, as not all teams can make all quizzes, so the scores can equal out at the end of the year.

The grand final and epic quiz will be in November when the Tenby Sailing Club quiz team of the year will be crowned. All money raised will go to a charity nominated by all the teams on a majority rules basis.

The teams in order from top to bottom are as follows: Cola Clan, Dashers, Losers, Who Knows, Four Amigos, The Lone Dogs, Just Warming Up, The Roger Moore’s, Green Herons, The Virgins, This Way Up and the Blind Antelopes.

The next quiz will be on Saturday, May 19, due to the late May bank holiday. Entry into the quiz is £5 for a team of up to six people or £1 if you think you can go it alone.

There is also a raffle that is run alongside the quiz at £1 a square. Just remember, it is all for charity.
