GREAT WELSH MARATHON
Mandy Draper in 4hrs 14mins and Emma Richards 4hrs 26 mins. This race started and finished at the Festival Fields in Llanelli, taking you along the coast and through the magnificent Millennium Coastal Path.
BATTLE ON THE BEACH
Vicky Jones in a time of 2hrs 8mins in Pembrey County Park. An off-road three-lap event with total distance being approximately 45km.
Each lap is comprised of approximately 5km on the beach (all hard sand), 5km singletrack, 5km doubletrack or forest roads. Only 100 metres is in soft sand, on the beach entrance.
AMMAN VALLEY SPRINT TRIATHLON
Rob Newman in 1hr 12mins. Held in Ammanford, it was a 400 metres pool swim followed by a 16km cycle to Garnant and return to Leisure Centre for 5km run to Walters Road, crossing into the High Street and then along the new cycle path on a picturesque trail ,then re-tracing steps back to the Leisure Centre.
TOUR DE GWENT CYLCE SPORTIVE
John Norman took part in the 52-mile Silver route (there were six distances on offer!) starting in the picturesque Roman town of Caerleon, riding out to Monmouth, Raglan, Usk and back along the River Usk to Caerleon and the event village.
CLUB TRIP TO MAJORCA
Recently, 10 members made the journey to the Sunny Mediterranean island of Majorca for a week’s cycling with local Nick Brown, and guide with the Legro’s Training Camp, namely Colin Barrett, Sophie Thomas, Tom Beck, Julie Andrasko, Huw Benbow, Nick Brown, Jason Brazier, John Hubbard, Andy Adamson and Mat Greener. They enjoyed their stay in the Duva Hotel in Puerto Pollença. Rides included the team sky climb of Sa Calobra, Puig Major, Orient, Soller, Honor, and Monastery of Cura Randa. They had a great time accompanied also by the Andrasko family. Thanks go to John Hubbard for all his hard work organising the trip!
THE BIG SPRING CLEAN
CLUB RIDES
All rides will leave Tenby Leisure Centre car park at 6 pm for the first few weeks. We have three groups - with a sweeper led social group with the intent that no-one gets left behind and all get a ride to suit their abilities. Front and rear lights a must and helmets to be worn on all club rides.
Tuesday, April 24, Route 1 (Pembroke loop): Lydstep, Hodgeston, Lamphey, Lower Lamphey Road, Pembroke Castle, Upper Lamphey Road, Lamphey, Hodgeston, Jameston, Lydstep, Tenby (approx 21.5 miles). Sweepers - Andy Adamson and Mat Greener.
Thursday. April 26, Route 62 (figure of eight Manorbier, Saundersfoot and Sardis): Tenby, coast road to Manorbier, turn right for Manorbier station up to Ridgeway, turn left onto Ridgeway. Turn right onto Coal Lane, then right towards St. Florence. Across main road into Devonshire Drive, turn right towards New Hedges, left down Sandy Hill into Saundersfoot, Coppet Hall, up hill, turn on last left at top of Wisemans to Sardis, turn left into Kilgetty, Pentlepoir, New Hedges and back to TLC (approx. 23 miles) Sweepers - Tom Beck and John Hubbard.
