It was another miserable weekend for Pembrokeshire football as a host of matches fell foul of the weather for what seems like the best part of the season now.
Since the dizzy heights of late August, early September when matches were completed thick and fast, almost a week hasn't gone by since when a match or two hasn't been postponed.
The Gulls have only played eight matches in the league, which is exactly half that of leading team Clarbeston Road seconds and second placed Pennar Robins. These postponements may give the league a false look about them as the Christmas break looms, yet one thing is certain, Pendine will have their work cut out at the end of the season when the re-arranged fixtures will flow faster than the river Towy in full flood.
Narberth firsts managed a game at Jesse Road, however, and Santa must have come early to the Bluebirds as they won 1-0 against Solva.
It was the home team's fifth win of the season, with Ashley Williams scoring the winning goal.
Saundersfoot Sports and Tenby also had their matches postponed and given Carew's defeat at Clarbeston Road, they probably wished they had, too, as they went down 4-1.
In what is turning out to be a miserable campaign for them, the visitors' only goal was scored by James Hinchliffe.
St. Clears also played as they travelled to Lamphey, with both sides serving up a Christmas cracker as the Saints came out on top 6-3.
Nathan Evans continued his good form to complete a hat-trick, with Danny Peters, Eddie Wiggins and Steve Trivet also scoring in an excellent win.
It was an even better day for St. Clears' second team as they prevailed 9-0 against Pembroke Boro seconds.
Ynyr James's goal-scoring spree shows no sign of abating as he scored four times against the visitors before Aled Snelling hit a hat-trick and Joe Lewis a brace in as one-sided a match as the team is likely to see this campaign.
Manorbier United's game at Broad Haven was called off too, although Tenby seconds managed a game at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, with the match ending up a 3-3 draw.
On a wet and soggy pitch, Sam Christopher, Jerome Mansbridge and Liam Culshaw all scored to ensure a share of the spoils.
Lawrenny travelled to Johnston to take on their seconds, although it was a day to forget as they lost 3-1. Brad Jenkins scored their solitary goal.
Carew seconds entertained Milford United yet lost 5-1, with Paul Griffiths scoring, and St. Florence also went down as they were defeated 3-1 at Milford Athletic, with Colin Batley grabbing their only goal.
Lawrenny seconds' home game against Fishguard Sports was postponed and so was Manorbier United seconds' clash against their counterparts from Kilgetty.
