WHITLAND 83 (12 pts.) SAUNDERSFOOT 69 (2)

Saundersfoot travelled to Whitland for a re-arranged Pembrokeshire Division One league game and returned home with just two points, losing the match by fourteen shots.

A slow start left the villagers the eventual losing margin behind after just five ends and despite reducing this at one stage to single figures, they could not quite overcome the early reverse against a team who are second in the league.

The only winning rink came from Dennis Reed, Dave Roberts, Roy Pring and Brian McKehon who, although eight shots down after 15 ends and still four adrift after 18, went into the last end just one behind. Unfazed as usual, a count of two led to yet another victory for Brian's boys who said afterwards that their success has been that they just keep plugging away even when behind.

Rink scores with Saundersfoot first and Whitland skips only were:

Graham Hughes, Neil Hensman, John Dugmore, Myrddin Dennis 18 Steve Reece 21.

Dennis Reed, Dave Roberts, Roy Pring, Brian McKehon 19 Colin Wynn 18.

Roy Kennion, Mike Oliver, Brian Desmond, Steve Dick 20 Dan Jenner 22.

Alan Brace, Grant Hughes, Paul Blayney, Don Poole 12 Glyndwr Thomas 22.

SAUNDERSFOOT LADIES

Saundersfoot ladies team gained two more victories recently over Pembroke Park and Tenby.

Away to Park, one rink up and one rink down meant two points each, but Saundersfoot secured the overall match points with a 42 shots to 36 scoreline.

Rink scores were: Angela Roberts, Steph Amos, Viv Edwards, Marion Evans 14 Kay Cole 19.

Sue McKehon, Ann Evans, Alwen Hughes Lorna Bissell 28 Barbara Rapley 17.

Playing at home to Tenby, the girls secured all six points with an emphatic 18-shot win and the rink results here were:

Angela Roberts, Steph Amos, Viv Edwards, Marion Evans 26 Alison Redman 14

Rachel Hensman, Alwen Hughes, Gemma Amos, Lorna Bissell 23 Gerry Brutnell 17.
