Tenby United have secured the continued support of Tenby Tourers as main club sponsor and are delighted they have decided to maintain this for season 2017/18, as with costs of running a rugby club - like everyday costs at home - continuing to rise, all financial support is gratefully received, and acknowledged, and our thanks go to everybody at Tenby Tourers.

Last Saturday’s scheduled game against Llanelli Wanderers was called off following a bout of sickness. After the game the week before against Tycroes, eight of the Tenby United players went down sick on the Sunday and as the week rolled on, along with six players from Tycroes and five committee men.

In addition, the Tenby United coach driver and match referee were also taken ill… suffering sickness, diarrhoea and nausea, with blood, urine and stool samples being taken from selected individuals as doctors and the local environmental health people tried to determine what was the cause of the problem.

Llanelli Wanderers and the WRU were contacted and with support from the Wanderers, it was agreed that the game be postponed. It has now been rearranged for April 21, followed a week later by an earlier postponed game away to Crymych.

Following the late postponement of the quarter-final of the Pembrokeshire and District Cup against Milford Haven RFC earlier in the month, with the opposition unable to raise a team, Milford have conceded the tie and Tenby United now join Pembroke Dock Quins in the semi-finals. The draw will be made at the January county meeting after the other ties (Aberystwyh v Crymych and Pembroke v Fishguard and Goodwick) have been decided.

Scarlets West Under 16s have two games scheduled for Heywood Lane early in 2018. Sunday, January 9, will see them take on RGC 1404 from North Wales, with a 7.15 kick-off, and on Wednesday, February 14, they entertain the Ospreys. More details will be published nearer the time - but two fantastic opportunities to see the potential stars of the future on your doorstep and local players are expected to be included in the squad
