A depleted First XV travelled to Aberystwyth last Saturday hoping to give a good account against a strong Aber outfit.

After a solid start the home sides pack established dominance and fed their speedy, skilful backs, who showed the visitors no mercy in building a substantial lead by half time that they consolidated in the second half, eventually winning by a very big margin.

Pembroke fought hard and scored a good try, but that was there sole contribution in a match that Aber dominated territorially for the bulk of the game.

The Youth team had also travelled with the First XV to Aberystwyth and they performed really well in their first half, building some very good phases and keeping their hosts under severe pressure throughout the half, which ended with Aber ahead 14-9.

However, the home side struck early and built a period of domination, whilst the Pembroke lads stepped off the gas and allowed the home side to score and build a sizeable lead.

Pembroke did strike back, but they lost concentration and the home side continued to create opportunities, which they duly converted, eventually running out worthy winners by 56-14.
