Whilst we have not seen many rabbits running around our course this year, the second weekend in April saw the Tenby Rabbits' assemble for their annual three-day outing. This year, 11 Rabbits were joined by five guests and after a hearty breakfast in the clubhouse, the bus set off towards Bryn Meadows, complete with a supply of suitable refreshments.

Captain Phil Carpenter's meticulous planning ensured that the hotel, food and course were ideal for a great weekend and the whole group looked very smart in their tour polo shirts, as seen in the team photo.

Friday's tournament for the Silver Rabbit was played in cold and windy, but dry conditions and, as usual, a wide range of scores were recorded.

In third place, with 30 points, was Chris Smith. Runner up (again!) was Mark Edwards with 33 points. The winner, with an excellent score of 34 points, was Bill Davies.

No two's were recorded on the day, so there was a rollover for day two.

In the Best Guest competition, Steffan Nowicki set the early pace with 39 points.

Saturday morning saw the competition for the Oman Cup, but the weather forecast was not good and, as play progressed, the rain became heavier and heavier, resulting in streams running across many fairways and greens and many puddles forming.

Understandably, the scoring was not as good as day one, but the usual spread of scores was maintained.

In third place, with 29 points, was Bob Flower. In second place, with 31 points and missing out on countback, was Steve Watkins. The winner, also with 31 points, was defending champion Robin Bradbury.

Steve Watkins recorded the only two, with the ball floating the last six inches into the hole!

Dafydd Evans recorded a magnificent score of 39 points in the Best Guest category.

Due to the incessant overnight rain, the course was closed on the Sunday, which meant that the Peter Nobes Salvers pairs competition had to be postponed and will be played at Tenby later in the year, based on the pairs drawn on Saturday night.

The presentations of the various winning trophies were made in the Spike's Bar.

Robin Bradbury won the Peter Watkins Trophy for best overall Rabbit with a total of 59 points, again beating Steve Watkins on countback.

Peter Turton won the Crooked Putter for best endeavour with a total of 40 points.

Dafydd Evans won the Best Guest Trophy (again) with a total of 71 points.

Bill Davies won the lost ball sweep.

Our finesmaster, Mackie Harts, was on top form throughout the trip and a total of £350 was raised, which was donated to the Paul Sartori Foundation, a very worthy cause.
