Pembroke Dock Quins 5 pts.

The Quins ended their home campaign with a defeat against third placed Laugharne conceding no less than nine tries in the process.

The visitors went on the attack straight from the off, but squandered early opportunities and had to wait until the 15th minute before left wing Thomas Thomas crossed wide out.

Centre Jon Owen pulled his conversion attempt wide.

Five minutes later, full-back Aled Rees crossed the Quins line which this time was converted by Owen.

Even at this early stage in the match, the writing was firmly on the wall for the Quins, although they were more than holding their own in both scrums and lineout, it was the visitors backs with outside half Owain Thomas pulling the strings that were the major threat.

On the half hour, Thomas crossed for his second try which again went unconverted to extend the visitors lead to 0-17.

The Quins, as the half drew to a close, put pressure on the visitors line, kicking penalties into the corner which sadly came to no avail.

As the second half started, Laugharne did not have to wait long for their bonus point try as flanker Mike Williams touched down for an unconverted try in the opening few minutes.

Prop Rhys Thomas soon got in on the act when he finished off a fine move, and this time Owen converted to stretch the lead to 0-29, before he himself scored the visitors' sixth try which he failed to convert.

Right wing Grant Walters not to be out done by his fellow winger grabbed the seventh try which was converted by Owen, before the Quins hit back with a consolation try from replacement centre Neil Harries.

Fellow centre Danny Woods missed the conversion, although it looked to be over to some standing behind the posts.

As the match went into the closing stages, two more tries were added for the visitors both scored by No 8 Carl Smith, with each converted by Owen.
