Pembroke Dock 10 pts Fishguard and Goodwick 84 The Quins were undone in quite spectacular fashion on Saturday as the Seagulls ran in no fewer than 12 tries in a game orchestrated by ex-Llanelli outside-half James Griffiths, who, although not affecting the overall result, certainly had a huge say in the massive points tally the Seagulls amassed. The Quins, however, were the first to get on the score sheet when just minutes after outside-half Andrew Price had pulled a penalty attempt wide, he sent out a perfect floated pass to centre Ryan Neilson, who sent left winger Sam Richards over in the corner for a well-worked try on 10 minutes. The Seagulls, who are not favourites for the league title for nothing, soon hit back when they were awarded a fortunate penalty try, which was converted by Griffiths. Two minutes later, he landed a simple penalty after the Quins collapsed a maul, to push his side 10-5 to the good. On 20 minutes, the outside-half took control of the match, which he was never going to relinquish, by racing 60 yards for a fine individual try, although amazingly he missed the conversion. Two more tries were added before the half-time break through left wing Matthew George and hooker Owain Morgan, to give the visitors a 29-5 lead and secure the important bonus point. The Quins were dealt a blow at the start of the second half when they lost fullback Paul Jonkers to a shoulder injury. Griffiths was soon on the score sheet again with a well-struck penalty to put his side 32-5 up. The Quins were really up against it as Griffiths, playing at a level way below his abilities, distributed the ball to his fellow runners who ran amok scoring three tries through centre Gareth Adamson, James Griffiths and fullback Ed Bendall, with only one being converted, before the Quins hit back with a fine try of their own from prop Dai Moseley, who showed a superb pair of hands to finish off a flowing move. Andrew Price missed the conversion and with 20 minutes still to go, the only hope the Quins had of getting anything from the match was to try and score two more tries for a bonus point, which was not beyond them. But the Seagulls were not going to take their foot off the pedal and ran in another five tries through right wing Sam Kurtz, flanker Gavin Walsh, a second for Matthew George, replacement prop Ryan Mc Veigh and number eight Mark George, all of which were converted by Griffiths, who finished with a personal haul of 34 points.
