St. Issell's 81Mariners 91

The Mariners continued their winning ways with a satisfying victory at Saundersfoot on Sunday, despite being short of a skip.

Graham Bann's rink returned to form to take the highest winning rink and take the kitty for the first time this year.

Yet again, Dave Halward and co kept up their good work, despite being made to fight towards the end of the game.

Gerd Gelderblom's rink were taken to the line twice during their game against Roy Pring's foursome, but dug deep at the end to take victory.

Sadly, John Arman's rink had a dissappointing afternoon, going in at 10 ends trailing by three shots to 22. However, they did find line and length in the second half sufficiently to enable the Mariners to take the match.

Rink scores (Mariners first, St. Issell's skips only) were:

Norman Firman, Boyd Parry, Karl Biershenk, Gerd Gelderblom 20; R. Pring 15.

Keith Church, Alan Yea, George Berry, John Arman 15; B. McKehon 31.

Jerry Carroll, Bobby Taylor, Richard Caley, Dave Halward 31; B. Deeley 24.

Eric Dezille, Roger Shadwell, Tony Spicer, Graham Bann 25; B. Lee 11.
