A Narberth boxer is getting back in the ring this summer in memory of his late father.

Tom Richards will be taking on Ben Matthews in a bout which forms part of the Budo Mixed Martial Arts event to be held at the LC Swansea venue on July 8.

It will be Tom’s first fight in two years with the boxer stating that he has come out of retirement in memory of his dad Chris Richards a club chairman and groundsman at Narberth Cricket Club who passed away in January.

Tom hopes to celebrate victory in the summer title fight eliminator after celebrating the birth of his newborn baby earlier this month.

Training at warehouse boxing in Swansea, Tom who has played football and cricket for his home town of Narberth in the past, has been sponsored by 57 Barbers in Swansea and AB Rogers and Son of Llawhaden for the fight.
