Activity Wales Events has welcomed a new member to its team, twenty-one-year-old Meg Bridges of Tenby, following her graduation from Cardiff University.
Meg’s graduation took place in June, where she was awarded with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Journalism, Media and Culture.
Following this success, she applied to work for the Pembrokeshire-based multi-sports events company - Activity Wales Events. Meg’s hard work had paid off, as she was successful in her application process and is now the company’s social media and marketing executive.
Meg was motivated to work for Activity Wales Events after seeing the great impact the company has had on Pembrokeshire, local people who are now regular triathletes and particularly her father, achieving huge personal goals through completing Long Course Weekend.
Matthew Evans CEO of Activity Wales Events said: “We are delighted to welcome Meg to the team. Local is in the DNA of our events and none more so than the very people that drive Activity Wales.
“Meg’s passion for the industry and the county is clear and as she travels selling Pembrokeshire to the sports tourism market globally, I have no doubt she will do both us and the county proud.”
There are upcoming internship opportunities for local people, leading up to and throughout the 2023 events season.
Activity Wales will need assistance in the organization and execution of events such as Long Course Weekend and the Challenge Wales Triathlon.
“This will be a great opportunity for individuals who have just finished school and are looking to gain experience before University or Work or anyone that would like to gain a greater insight into the world of sport,” added Matthew.
