Soccer stars from Wales teamed up with budding football starlets from Pembrokeshire recently, ahead of the side’s World Cup qualifier match in Cardiff.

The Welsh squad, who were conducting a training session in the week leading up to their 4-0 win against Moldova, met up with the youngsters courtesy of Princes Gate Trust - who raise money all year round for a variety of charities, including the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital.

Princes Gate Spring Water gave football fans the opportunity to win a ‘kicking class’ with the stars of the national football team, by holding a competition ahead of the side’s historic run to the semi-finals of the European Championships in France over the summer.

Producing over 120 million bottles of spring water each year, Princes Gate has been the official water supplier for The Football Association of Wales for the past eight years.

The FAW and Welsh players gave of their own time after the first training session, conducting a kickaround and Q and A session with the kids.

The children involved - from Pembrokeshire and beyond - had the time of their lives, and the parents were humbled by how down to earth the players were and how much they seemed to be enjoying themselves kicking about with the kids.

Tenby trio Madoc, Mabli (who attend Ysgol Hafan y Mor) and Olwen Evans, a pupil at Joe Allen’s old school, Ysgol Y Preseli in Crymych, also managed to get a photo with the Narberth native, as well as a snap with Wales’ talisman Gareth Bale.
