Carew may have won their first game of the season against Tenby, but the rest of their season thus far has been less than satisfactory, with another defeat on Saturday pushing them down the league table.
The campaign may just be four games old, but the writing could already be on the wall for the Rooks as Goodwick United put them to the sword, winning 3-1. James Hinchliffe gave the hosts hope with a good score, but the Phoenix Park outfit were too strong for the home side.
Their defeat was not as bad as Narberth’s, however, who seem to have a Jekyll and Hyde season going for them this year. One defeat is followed by a good win is followed by a whopping loss as Hakin United beat them 10-0.
Monkton Swifts were goal less, too, as they lost 4-0 at Johnston, but it was better news for Lamphey as they defeated Neyland 2-0, with Sam Southcott scoring both goals. The win was a fitting send-off for stalwart supporter Haydn Cole, who passed away recently. He was 83.
Pennar Robins went down 4-1 at Milford United, while Tenby had few issues in dealing with Angle as they won 10-1. Nicky Willis scored for the visitors, but four goals for Sam Christopher, another four by Jordan Richards and two from Jack Christopher saw the Seasiders ease home.
In division two, Lawrenny drew 2-2 at Herbrandston, while a Scott Brunton goal wasn’t enough to secure the points for Hundleton as they lost 3-1 at home to Fishguard Sports.
Ewan Laidlaw slotted one home for Saundersfoot Sports, but they lost 4-1 at home to St. Ishmaels, while a Johnny Thomas goal was all that separated St. Clears from Hakin United seconds as the Saints secured their first win of the season.
There were plenty of goals scored between Clarbeston Road seconds and Manorbier United, but sadly for the visitors, the majority were scored for Clarbie as they ran out 12-2 winners. James Richards and Mike Ryder both scored for the away team.
Kilgetty secured a brilliant result at home to Milford Athletic after running out 5-0 winners. Mike Beynon scored twice for the home team, with the other goals coming from Richard Tebbutt, Josh Bevan and Jake Proctor.
The game between Narberth seconds and Pendine proved to be a thriller, with the Gulls coming out on top by the odd goal in seven. Karl Jones scored twice for the home team and William Dunlop the other, but three goals by Mason Davies and another from Kieran Lewis saw the visitors take the spoils.
It was a good tussle between Pennar Robins’ seconds and Carew seconds as the game finished 3-3, Phil Hay and Karl Rees sharing the goals for the hosts.
Ryan Bowen and Jack Morgan both scored for Angle seconds in their 2-1 win over Pembroke Boro, for whom Phil John scored, while St. Clears’ seconds and Neyland seconds drew 3-3.
Jason Evans scored twice for Lamphey seconds and Jamie Aries once as the Stags’ ran out 3-2 winners over St. Ishmaels’ seconds, while St Florence produced one of their finest performances in years to beat West Dragons 6-1.
In the derby game between Carew thirds and Kilgetty seconds, the points went back to Kingsmoor following their 5-2 win. Scott Cowper scored both for the hosts, while two apiece for George Wright and Duanne Rossiter and another by Chris Morgan secured the win for the visitors.
Lawrenny seconds went down 2-0 at home to Letterston seconds, while goals from Corey Mair, Wayne Boswell and Aaron Jones ensured Monkton Swifts’ seconds won 3-1 against Hundleton seconds.
Finally, Pembroke Boro seconds lost 5-3 at home to Camrose seconds, despite two goals from Sam Smith and another by Sid Wallace.
