Narberth’s Richie Adams’s fine run of form shows no sign of slowing as the ace run scorer raised his bat for his third consecutive score over 50 to help guide his team to victory at Johnston.
His 59, together with Ben Quartermaine’s 63, helped Narberth reach 196 all out against the hosts, who were then all out for 119 in reply as Quartermaine took 4-15 and Ben Hughes 4-27.
It was a close game at St. Ishmaels as the home side finished on 198-9 in reply to Whitland’s 220-7. Paul Davies caressed a fluent 53, Will Spreadbury 36 and Scott Newton 36 not out in the Whitland innings and in reply the hosts finished just short as Newton took 3-35, while Iestyn Scourfield and Wayne Howell each took a brace.
In the match of the day at Neyland, honours went to the home side in a game that could have big implications on who wins the division one title.
Cresselly batted first and their famed line-up could only reach 147-9, with Iwan Izzard hitting 56 and Neale Williams 22.
Neyland strolled to victory in no time, losing just four wickets along the way, meaning they leapfrogged Cresselly to lead the way in division one.
Haverfordwest leapfrogged them too to move into second following a four-wicket win over Lawrenny, who batted first and reached 168 all out. Harry Thomas top scored on 51, with Brad McDermott Jenkins hitting 37.
In reply, Rob Williams and Thomas both took a brace of wickets.
A maiden league century for Tom Scourfield and 55 from cousin Nic were the highlights for Carew as they strolled to a regulation win over strugglers Llanrhian.
The Cows struck a respectable 187-5 in their innings, but it proved to be a walk in the park for the Scourfields, who helped Carew ease to an eight-wicket win.
In division two, Kilgetty got the better of a draw at home to Carew, who could only finish on 161-8 in reply to 204-8.
Ian Poole struck an unbeaten 33 for the hosts, while Liam Cullen hit 25 and Jake Marsh 27. In reply, Martin Tweedie took 2-22 and Kurtis Marsh 3-31 as Carew hung on for the draw.
For Carew, Rob Scourfield and Harry Cook both took two wickets, while Luke Hicks struck 43, Max Brindley 34 and Dai Rees 28.
Stackpole had a miserable day at home to Burton as they were all out for 45 in reply to the visitors’ 195, while Cresselly seconds lost to their counterparts from Haverfordwest by six wickets after they posted 185-9. Richard Harris top scored for the home team, hitting 93.
It was a good day for Pembroke as they won by five wickets against Llangwm, who were all out for 145 thanks to Billy Woods taking three wickets and Jonathan Rogers the same.
In reply, Jack Harries hit 43 and Rogers an unbeaten 45 to seal the win.
In division three, a weakened Lamphey went down by seven wickets at home to Haverfordwest thirds after the Stags were dismissed for just 116. Dave Blackwell hit 22 and James Skeels 21, while Pete McGilloway hit 20. Skeels then took 2-15, but they were well and truly beaten.
After posting 275-4 against Crymych, Saundersfoot could only draw as the Mountain Men held on at 175-6. Steve Cook struck a majestic 107 not out, while Sam Franklyn hit 61, with Tom Mansbridge snaring 2-28 in the reply.
Lawrenny seconds were held to a draw at home to Neyland seconds who reached 199-7 in their overs. John Fuller was the Gavenyards’ top bowler, taking 5-45.
In reply, Chris Buckle struck 65 and Adrian Harries 35 as they finished on 176-8.
Meanwhile, Pembroke Dock’s two-match winning streak came to an end following a 52-run defeat at Llechryd, who posted 204-5. In reply, Luke Murray’s 86 helped them to 152 all out.
Whitland seconds went down to Hook by 64 runs after the Borderers were all out for 165 in reply to the away team’s 229-5. Martin Thomas top scored for Whitland with 75 and Leighton Edwards scored 46, while Matthew Lewis took 3-59.
In division four, Narberth seconds secured an eight wicket win over Pembroke seconds who were all out for 79. Nic Evans took 4-11 and Sean Thomas 3-24, while in reply, Andrew Williams was 29 not out.
Chris Stapleton hit 34 and Paul Edwards 20 in Hundleton’s 111 all out against Johnston seconds, which was never going to be enough, while Carew thirds had a low-scoring win over Llechryd seconds, who batted first and were skittled for 106. In reply, Mark Hicks struck 36 and Jeremy Griffiths 22 to win by five wickets.
Saundersfoot seconds, meanwhile were beaten by two wickets at Llanrhian seconds after the ’Foot were all out for 122. Paul Morris hit 49, while in repl,y Chris Parker took 5-28.
Finally in division five, Kilgetty seconds went down by 93 runs at Neyland thirds, while Whitland thirds lost by 48 runs at home to St. Ishmaels’ seconds.
Cresselly thirds were all out for 58 in reply to Llangwm seconds’ 245 all out, while Stackpole seconds had a seven-wicket win at Haverfordwest fourths after the hots could only reach 144-6 in their innings.
In reply, Rupert Davies struck 59 and Richard Simon 67 not out to see the Lilies home.
