Carmarthenshire County Council’s Actif Sport and Leisure team has once again been recognised for its commitment to health and safety, achieving the prestigious RoSPA Gold Medal Award for the sixth consecutive year.
The internationally renowned RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate an unwavering dedication to protecting lives and setting the standard for health and safety excellence. This award affirms Actif’s continued success in maintaining rigorous safety measures and ensuring the well-being of staff, members, and visitors.
Sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, receiving entries from organisations across the globe and making it one of the most sought-after achievements in the health and safety industry.
Gary Price has been instrumental in leading the submission process, with contributions from managers and colleagues across Actif. Their collective effort reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to safety, ensuring Actif Sport and Leisure continues to meet and exceed high standards.
Cllr Hazel Evans, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: "This award is a fantastic achievement for Actif and a testament to the dedication of our staff in making health and safety a top priority.
“Their commitment ensures that our facilities remain safe and welcoming spaces for the whole community. To receive the RoSPA Gold Medal for the sixth consecutive year is an outstanding accomplishment, and I am very proud of the team for maintaining such high standards."
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “Actif Sport and Leisure should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.
