August is tournament month for East Williamston Short Mat Bowls Club and last week saw the Pairs Competition take place at East Williamston Community Hall.
Teams battled it out through the round robin stages with the pairing of Fran Harper-Green and Phill Painting topping the group. They then went on to play the group runners-up pairing of Mark Taylor and Paula Jacobs in the final.

In the final Fran and Phill played some terrific bowls but it wasn’t to be, as Mark and Paula proved to be the stronger team, taking the match win and the trophy.
