AT the recent World Short Mat Bowls Championship held in Belfast, Tavernspites Alan Evans, Andrew Evans and Mikey John along with Aled Edwards (Carmarthen) were crowned World Rinks Champions.
Unbeaten throughout the group stages, they beat Ireland in the semi-final and England in the final to be crowned World Champions.
Two times defending pairs champions Jonathan Gladstone and Andrew Hudson from Hook won the bronze medal after narrowly losing their semi-final on the final end to eventual champions England.
Sean Hughes (The Meads) came fourth in the singles competition.
Wales also won the bronze medal in the triples and also came fourth in the pairs.
