The hunt is on for a new secretary and a new president for the Pembroke County Cricket Club, as these two key appointments will need to be made at the annual general meeting to be held on Wednesday, February 29, in Haverfordwest Cricket Club, at 7.30 pm.

After over 25 years in office, the current county secretary Bill Marchant is standing down and will retire on this occasion, even if no other names come forward, as he gave three years notice of his intention to retire.

The role is no longer as demanding as it was when Mr. Marchant first took over, as some of the duties have been delegated, but it is still a key role in Pembrokeshire cricket.

Another household name amongst Pembrokeshire cricketers, Maurice Cole, of Cresselly, will be standing down as county president after serving in office for five years.

Nominations for theses posts, as well as posts on the various committees, will be announced when the agenda for this year's annual general meeting is circulated to clubs and members.

Bill Marchant would also like to know if there are any errors, omissions, changes of personnel, telephone numbers or email addresses which need to be included in the 2012 County Handbook.

An email amendment would be preferred, addressed to [email protected]">[email protected], otherwise he can be contacted on (01646) 600974.
