Youth Generation Pembrokeshire have revealed plans for their group 'YGP Collective' to promote their forthcoming charity Christmas single, as they take on the pop titans in the music charts.

The single - a cover of the classic 'Silent Night' - is released on December 1. The musical collective features local gig star Hannah Periam and YouTube hit Rob James alongside pupils from Haverfordwest VC School, Milford Haven School, Milford Junior School, Neyland Community School and the Meads School. The artwork was designed by a pupil from Hakin Community School.

"This is a real big community effort," said Sally Sanderson of Youth Generation Pembrokeshire. "We are so excited and cannot wait to see the children performing the song together in front of an audience.

"Radio Pembrokeshire supporting us is fantastic and I'm sure everybody will love our version of the track when it gets its first play."

A selection of the cast will perform a live acoustic version especially for radio on the December 9, while the group will take to the stage at the Milford Haven Christmas Cracker on the weekend of December 14.

"We are currently in negotiations to take part in more events across the county and will be signing/selling limited edition CD copies of the track at the Christmas Cracker on December 14.

"We will update our Facebook page and website with more information as soon as confirmed."

• The single will be released on iTunes and Amazon, December 1, and is available for pre-order from the Youth Generation Pembrokeshire website now at http://www.youthgenerationpembrokeshire.org.uk">www.youthgenerationpembrokeshire.org.uk
