A young sporting star has been named ‘Narberth Person of the Year’.

Lowri Pritchard represented Wales ladies Under 18s in the Six Nations rugby tournament, with her country winning their full international match against Ireland.

This was the first time in the history of Welsh rugby that they had a Ladies U18s team and it was the first Six nations tournament to be held for this age group.

Lowri is pictured being handed the award by the Mayor of Narberth Glynis Meredith, on behalf of the Town Council, and also county councillor for the town’s Urban ward, Cllr Marc Tierney.

“I was delighted that Lowri received the Narberth Person of the Year award - she has made an amazing contribution to her sport, as an individual and a member of the team,” said Cllr Tierney.

“Narberth has a great record of producing talented sportsmen and women who provide encouragement to others to take part in sport locally throughout the year. I’d like to wish Lowri all the best in representing Wales in the future.”
