Six pieces of artwork depicting various landmarks around Pembrokeshire are currently on display at County Hall, Haverfordwest.
The paintings have been created by young people who took part with other family members in a series of workshops during the half-term school holiday earlier this year.
During the unique project, six locations were viewed and ultimately depicted in the artwork: the port at Goodwick; the flying fish sculpture in Fishguard, Valero refinery and the castles at Pembroke, Haverfordwest and Narberth.
Working alongside professional artists, 100 youngsters participated in the scheme - a collaboration between the VC Gallery in Haverfordwest and Pembroke County Council’s Play Sufficiency Officer, Damian Golden.
As well as promoting teamwork among the young people, it had the added advantage of allowing parents to spend quality time with their children, Damian explained.
He added: “It encouraged the children to associate art with play and promoted a feeling of community and fellowship.
“Working alongside professionals also gave the children access to many different artistic techniques not taught in mainstream school.”
Kelly, a mother from Pembroke Dock said: “We have had such a great time, there isn’t a great deal of activities for the whole family and working together with colour was fab.”
Alex, 11, said: “It’s been a really good. We don’t do a lot of art in school so doing this is so much fun.”
Another aim of the project was to raise awareness of the VC Gallery and its function as a community art hub.
Located in High Street, it is open on week days as a drop-in centre for people with mental or physical disabilities - both young and elderly - and to anyone who feels alone, disadvantaged or isolated.
The paintings can be viewed during the week on the first floor of County Hall near the Committee Rooms between 9 am and 5 pm.
