SATURDAY, August 30 will see two young local musicians being reunited in concert, at St Mary's Church, Tenby at 1 pm, to give a lunchtime recital of light classical music.
Louise Haines (clarinet) and Jamie Hutchinson (violin), both aged 19, have enjoyed a friendship due to their musical activities for a decade.
The two girls participated in many of the same ensembles throughout their time at Greenhill School, these include the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, Three Counties Youth Orchestra, Pembrokeshire schools orchestra, not to mention the many Greenhill ensembles.
With these ensembles they have travelled extensively in the UK and Ireland, in Europe and to San Francisco and back!
Individually, Louise has enjoyed success as Pembrokeshire young musician and Rotary club young musician of Wales, and Jamie, young musician of Dyfed and National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.
Jamie and Louise have just completed successful first years at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and the Royal Academy of Music, London, respectively.
The programme will include works by Gershwin, Dvorak, Brahms, Finzi and Saint Saens amongst others. Their accompanist on this occasion will be prominent local musician, Seimon Morris. Tickets £3 on the door, all welcome.
