The prestigious Barclays Young Musician of Dyfed 2003 competition is to be held in North Pembrokeshire for the first time in its 10-year history.
Preseli School, Crymych, is the venue. The day, Saturday, November 22, by an appropriate coincidence, is the feast day of the patron saint of music, St. Cecilia!
The five finalists will give a concert, starting at 7.15 pm, which is open to all for the small sum of £5 (tickets available at the door); accompanied youngsters £1.
The standard of performance on these occasions is stunning. The skills nurtured in this far-flung area of the British Isles are amazing. The result will be a concert of exceptional mastery of a variety of musical instruments and of musical styles ranging from baroque to contemporary: an evening to delight all music lovers.
