Pembrokeshire's young farmers have been out to prove what a bunch of good sports they are. This summer, members have competed in rugby, netball, badminton, rounders and basketball, as well as indoor sports such as darts, pool, and board games. Llawhaden's boys took the sevens rugby title for the third year running and, not to be outdone, the club's girls won the netball tournament at the recent sports day. Also at the sports day, Llysyfran won the basketball competition, Keyston raced into first place in the rounders and Brawdy were victorious in the mixed doubles badminton. In the darts competition, Arwel Beynon, from Clynderwen, took the men's singles title and Llysyfran's Catrin Vaughan was the winner in the ladies section. Stephen Williams, of Llysyfran, won the pool tournament, with Tiers Cross winning overall. The final of the indoor sports competition, which consists of dominoes, draughts and tipit, was a closely-fought clash between Hayscastle and Templeton, with Hayscastle claiming the trophy in the final game of tipit. The winners will now go on to represent Pembrokeshire at the Wales finals in September.
