THREE rising local cricket stars will be winging their way to South Africa next year as part of the Dyfed Schools Under 13s squad.

The Dyfed Schools team has been selected to represent Wales on a tour to the African country in March.

Among the squad will be seven Pembrokeshire youngsters, including three from the south of the Cleddau, Scott Helmich, of Tenby, Rhys Davies, of Jeffreyston, and Scott Arthur, of Pembroke.

Students at the Greenhill School, Tenby, Scott Helmich and Rhys Davies play their cricket for Carew, while Pembroke School pupil Scott Arthur turns out for Hundleton.

The trio are actively seeking sponsorship to enable them to take part in this memorable tour.

Anyone who can assist can contact the boys themselves or treasurer, Mr. Gari Davies, on (01646) 651694.
