Are you under 18 and looking after someone who has a disability, illness or a drink/drugs problem? Would you like to meet other young carers for a fun day? Would you like to come along to have your say about the support and services you receive? Or are you working with young people and need to find out more about young carers? If you have answered yes to any of the above, why not come along to the Young Carers Day on Saturday, June 18, at the Garage, Haverfordwest. The day is part of the celebrations of Carers Week and the theme this year is 'Work, Rest and Play'. In the morning, there will be a chance to watch a video about young carers and hear about some research which is currently being carried out in Pembrokeshire. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day to 'Have Your Say' - there's a video diary room, group discussions and a group collage/graffiti wall. In the afternoon, there will be fun workshops to join - you can choose from making music with Bongo Clive to belly dancing, art and crafts, relaxation techniques or smoothie making. Or perhaps you would like to try your hand at the prize pool tournament - can you challenge Kath and Paige to a game? The day has been funded by Pembrokeshire County Council with the support of generous donations from Chevron Texaco, Wilkinsons, Redbridge Fruits and the Tenby Rotary Club. If you would like to find out more about the day or you would like a booking form, please contact Kath Jones from Gennex 25-7 on 01437 769422 or e- mail her on [email protected]">[email protected].
