YORKSHIRE Building Society has been delighted to declare little Mikayla Amber Baker as an Honorary Yorkshire Person in its Yorkshire Day celebrations. Mikayla has also received a Yorkshire Building Society Day Savings Account to get her into a good savings habit. Yorkshire Day, which is on August 1 each year, is a celebration of all things Yorkshire and a great way of promoting the county to the rest of the UK. Mikayla was the first baby to be born in Withybush Hospital on August 1 2005 - the 30th anniversary of the first Yorkshire Day event. Sian Rees, manager of the society's Tenby branch, said: "As the building society bearing the very fine name 'Yorkshire' we are always keen to be involved in the Yorkshire Day celebrations. "We chose to involve the maternity unit at Withybush Hospital in our celebration this year, as having a new baby is one of the most exciting times in life and naturally all new parents want to create a secure future for their little treasures. We hope that our starter treasure - £25 in the One Day Savings Account - will set their new arrival on the right road to achieve whatever they want in the future."
