Field day: The field day this year was another great day in the YFC calendar with numbers up on competing members.

A huge thank you to the James family at Gellyolau, Clunderwen, for hosting the event and to Alice and her team for providing the refreshments for judges and stewards. Most grateful thanks to all the judges and stewards for their hard work.

The end of day results saw Eglwyswrw taking top spot overall and winning the ATV, tractor handling, nature trail, and Fferm Factor.

Hywel Davies was named as the senior stockman, whilst Hannah Bradbury and William Davies shared the top spot in the junior stockman.

Clunderwen took home the glory in the fencing competition in both the senior and junior sections and Llysyfran continue their domination of the efficiency with safety competition and the mock auction winners were Carwyn Rees and Owen Morris and the live radio show was won by Brawdy/Hayscastle YFC.

In the farmhouse, interviews were the order of the day with a fantastic entry of 14 for Queens attendant and five for Rally Queen. It was tough to judge (ably handled by Dil Williams, Gill Lawrence and Einir Ryder), and after a long day and quite a bit of deliberating, the honour of Queen was given to Nerys Roberts, Brawdy/Hayscastle, with her attendants named as Angharad Edwards and Carys Griffiths, Llysyfran, Ffion Phillips, Hermon, and Marged Simons, Llawhaden.

It was a first for Pembrokeshire YFC this year with the introduction of a male ambassador role and judges Geraint Jenkins, Delyth Parry and Tim John were given the task of deciding from five worthy contenders who would be given the role for the first year. In the end, Shon Rees, Hermon, won the vote!

Good luck to all the new officials and again a big thank you to Alice, Jill, Pippa, Jess and Emily for all their excellent work and over the past year. and the next major event will be the annual rally at the County Showground on Saturday, May 28.
