Elly Neville and her Ward 10 Flag recently had a great time meeting a fantastic group of young people who were having a ‘Bake Sale Plus!’ to raise funds for Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal.

A huge thank you is due to Molly, Sophie, Matthew, Efa, Jade and Tayla who are all Year 10 pupils at Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest.

Elly felt the need to sample the bake sale products just to check for quality of course!

When Elly visited the stall, they made a real fuss of her, took her off selling raffle tickets and had photos, all while looking after customers and explaining what they were raising funds for.

Young people sometimes get a bad press these days, but what a great group of young people they are.

This was part of their Welsh Baccalaureate course and on this evidence they will all get top marks!

The sale, on a baking hot day, raised the fantastic amount of £148.50 to go towards the appeal total which is now over £100,000.

Elly’s dad, Lyn, said: “Molly contacted us to ask if she and her group could raise funds for Elly’s appeal through a bake sale. We were delighted and very grateful for their support. They were real ambassadors, and a credit to their school, and had all worked very hard baking up a fantastic range of products, as well as selling bags, umbrellas and doing a raffle! Their help is very much appreciated by us and all the nurses, staff and patients on Ward 10 at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.”

Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal is raising funds for patient experience and environment on the Ward 10 (Cancer Ward) at Withybush Hospital.

Elly and her family are continuing to seek donations via their Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Ward10Flag and Please give the Facebook page a like - search Ward 10 Flag.
