I was most interested in the article in your 'paper of January 31, regarding the Imperial Hotel owner of long ago, namely Mr. M. Thierry, and much of Mr. Charles Birt's information I can endorse.

However, I am unsure that Mr. Mino Thierry sold his hotel to the Weston Biscuits family as far back as the 1920s as mentioned in the article.

My uncle David Garratt and father Arthur Griffiths, as successive owners of the grocery business 'Garratt's Stores', of 14 Warren Street, regularly supplied the hotel with much of their food and almost weekly the small statured person of Mrs. Thierry and/or their daughter would visit us at the shop.

When I was older and strong enough to deliver the large boxes of goods to their hotel side entrance to help my uncle and father I would do this whilst at school on Saturdays.

I recall the departure of the owners from Tenby and the subsequent buying of the hotel by the Weston millionaire, but I was only born in 1929. Hence someone must have wrong dates.
