Once again, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is opening its reference library for World Book Day on Thursday, March 7.
From 10 am until 4 pm, you may visit the library without an appointment and with the help of museum staff examine some of the wonderful books in the collection.
Whatever your interest - whether it be natural history, art, historic visitors guides, archaeology of local history, or just the pleasure of handling rare and beautiful books - the museum is sure to have something to please you.
You may like to see the unique original volume written in 1558 by the inventor of the equals sign, Robert Recorde, or perhaps enjoy the beautifully handpainted illustrations in some of the natural history books which were produced before colour printing was available. If you are not sure where to begin, the museum shall have some volumes ready for your perusal.
Do go along and spend an hour or two getting to know their collection. Although the museum will not be offering to do research on this particular day, you can make a future appointment if you have a subject you wish to explore more fully.
