FOLLOWING a busy summer season, Art Matters is now planning to settle down for the autumn programme of classes and workshops.

Starting on Monday, November 3, and continuing for five weeks, the programme includes 25 one-day workshops and adds several new tutors to the growing list of regulars.

Workshops specifically for beginners include painting in watercolour with Graham Hadlow, working in soft pastel with Arthur Lewis, and 'step by step in watercolour' with Adrian James. These tutors also offer classes for those with more experience.

New classes include pastel portraits with Jon Davies, who though locally based travels to teach throughout Britain and beyond, painting in acrylic with Janet Bligh and Rod Williams 'looking at space'.

Susan Sands provides a second opportunity to learn about monoprinting following an oversubscribed session last spring, as does Pauline Harries, painting in gouache.

Oil pastel is the medium used by tutor Peter Rossiter, and Paul Stokle takes a new look at abstraction, while Barry Herniman offers more 'loose and lively' watercolour.

A further series of workshops will follow in the spring, including contributions from Ann Whalley and Sue McDonagh.

All the workshops run from 10 am to 4 pm, with a break for lunch, and include complimentary tea and coffee.

The maximum number of participants each day is 12 and some of these workshops become fully booked very quickly.

Programmes can be obtained from Art Matters, South Parade, Tenby, now, in person or by telephoning (01834) 843375.
