Work is due to begin on the demolition of the former Delphi Apartments on Tenby's South Parade next week.
The developers behind the scheme for the former Royal Gatehouse Hotel included the renovation of the units at the Delphi site as part of the revamp plans for the development which is seeing a Premier Inn built at White Lion Street.
Informing members of Tenby Town Council at their meeting on Tuesday night, town clerk Andrew Davies told councillors that he had met with the hotel's project architect, Michael Chichester, of C2J last Friday, who said that they had a five week deadline to hand over the building to Premier Inn, which would see a quick turnaround on some minor 'non-material changes' to the plans.
These changes included - vents added to hotel facades; louvres added to top level plant room (height and plan of area same as consented scheme); green roofs omitted due to advice that it will provide a breading habitat for sea gulls; glazed roof to cinema façade revised to solid roof construction under advice from building control to prevent fire spread to hotel above; external works - car park layout revised to allow for ease of access for servicing vehicles to the electrical sub-station and hotel.
