Pembrokeshire County Council is currently carrying out road works at Lower and Upper Frog Street, Tenby.

The work, which started this week, involves excavations in the carriageway and the re- setting of the carriageway blocks. In order to carry out the work, road closures are applying to both streets.

The work, which has begun on Lower Frog  Street, will continue until December 9, and will only move to Upper Frog Street once Lower Frog Street has been completed.

There will be no road closures during the Christmas break.  The work is due to be completed by April 7.

The council has also been liaising with Western Power Distribution and it has been  agreed to renew the main electricity cable located in these two streets. It is envisaged that the work undertaken by WPD will not place too much of a delay on the proposed finish dates. The finish date will be reviewed after the first two weeks of joint working.

There is a long-term advantage in letting WPD start their work in conjunction with PCC as no future road closures will be required and therefore disruption will be kept to a minimum. "The work is essential maintenance and, although there will be some disruption to the public, we will endeavour to keep this to a minimum," said a council spokesperson.

"PCC looks forward to the co-operation of people in Tenby during this work."
