Sir,
I was successful in winning
your recent competition for
four tickets to 'Steam into
Christmas' on the Gwili
Railway, Carmarthen. My success
could not have been better
timed as it coincided with a
visit from my son, daughterin-
law and grandchildren who
live near London.
We braved the winter weather
and enjoyed a marvellous
afternoon which began with a
ride on the steam train to visit
Father Christmas in his grotto,
where the children were given
two Christmas presents, followed
by a ride on a model
train. The adults enjoyed a
complimentary glass of sherry
and the return journey was
rounded off with tea and
mince pies for the adults and
goody bags for the children.
Throughout the afternoon
the railway staff went out of
their way to make sure that
everyone enjoyed a wonderful
experience; a huge thank you
to the Tenby Observer and Gwilli
Railway for
making it all possible.
