The annual service for the Women's World Day of Prayer, Saundersfoot, Kilgetty and District branch, was held at St. Elidyr's Church, Amroth, where some 60 to 70 women - and a few men - were present. Before the service began, Audrey Hilling paid tribute to Gillian Morgan, who had been a very able secretary and treasurer of the branch for 18 years, and a minute's silence was observed in her memory. This year's service had been prepared by the Christian women of Poland and entitled 'Let our Light Shine'. The flowers in the church were provided and arranged by Amroth Church ladies, who also handed out bread and salt according to Polish custom. The leader was Ladonna Mallams, and various passages from the service were read by members of the committee, drawn from all churches and chapels in the district. A very inspiring address was delivered by Christine Hesslegrave, and Rev. Michael Butler pronounced the closing prayers. The organist was Mr. Mike Gulliford. After the service, cups of tea and Welsh cakes were served by the ladies of the church and were enjoyed by all present. Many thanks to all who helped to make the service such a great success.
