A woman from Narberth, who took her boyfriend's car without consent, has been fined after pleading guilty to driving without a valid licence or insurance.
Fifty-eight-year-old Gloria Dawn Jones, of Garfield Gardens, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that at around 9.50 pm on January 10, a police officer on patrol in the Robeston Wathen area, stopped a Peugeot being driven by Mrs. Morgan.
The defendant admitted that it belonged to her boyfriend and that she had taken it without his consent. She was given a caution for this offence by police, but charged for not producing a valid driver's licence or having insurance.
Mrs. Morgan's solicitor, Mark Layton, said that his client was of clean character and that the action to take her boyfriend's car was a spur of the moment decision.
Magistrates fined Mrs. Morgan £40 for not having a licence and £110 for not having insurance. She was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
She was also given three penalty points for not having a licence and a further six penalty points for having no insurance.
