A 62-year-old woman who fell over in the surf at Freshwater West shortly before 7.30 pm on Wednesday, August 13, was assisted by St. Govan's Coastguard Rescue Team and Freshwater West RNLI lifeguards. The woman was taken to Withybush Hospital after ingesting water and suffering from hypothermia. From Cardiff, she was wading in the surfline when she stepped off a sandbank, causing her to be submerged, before being pulled to safety by her son.
