Tenby and Manorbier Coastguard Rescue Team, along with the South Pembs. sector manager and Dyfed Powys Police, assisted the ambulance service with the evacuation of a female who had sustained injury after falling off her horse at Saundersfoot beach last weekend.

The incident happened shortly before 4.30 on Sunday when the pair were crossing a stream outlet on the beach, but the horse got spooked and the rider was thrown off, knocking her unconscious for around five minutes.

Tenby Coastguard Rescue Team secured a helicopter landing site for the air ambulance, but the casualty, a 50-year-old woman from Saundersfoot, was eventually transferred to Withybush Hospital via land ambulance.
