An inquest has been held into the death of a 58- year-old woman who died from a fractured skull after falling from her bicycle and hitting her head on the kerb. Forensic experts found a mark on the kerb where Christine Joyce Harvey's pedal had hit it, Deputy Carmarthenshire Coroner, Pauline Mainwaring, was told. Nothing was found to suggest a vehicle might have been involved. Mrs. Harvey, who lived in a caravan in Station Road, Whitland, died in Morriston Hospital in March after being transferred from Glangwili. Her death was due to pneumonia following head injuries, with her injuries accelerating the onset of dementia with which she had already been diagnosed, consultant pathologist, Dr. John Kevin Murphy, said. A verdict of accidental death was therefore recorded.
