An injury time try saw the Seasiders triumph over their local rivals Haverfordwest on Saturday, with substitute Will Crockford ensuring a glorious double over the Blues this season after their previous 21-0 win at Heywood Lane. It was Haverfordwest who made the early running in this National League division three west clash, however, scoring the afternoon's first try through winger Owen Thomas, with Mike Venables adding to the lead with a penalty. The United got themselves back into the game with a penalty from Scott McLaughlin, but then saw prop Simon Griffiths get sent off. The dismissal only seemed to fire up the Seasiders though, as they took control of the game by grabbing two tries in as many minutes through Dan Shooter and Rob James. McLaughlin managed to convert both tries to give the visitors a nine-point lead. Back came Haverfordwest and reduced the lead before half-time with a try from Matthew Kelly, which Venables converted, to leave the score at 17-15 in Tenby's favour at the interval. McLaughlin added to the Seasiders' points tally after the break, first scoring a try which he duly converted, then kicking an excellent drop goal. However, the home side fought back with tries from Matthew Davies and Venables, who converted both to give his side the lead again. But still this thrilling derby clash was not over. Referee David Swain added seven minutes of injury time, which enabled the Seasiders to make one last run at their opponents' try line, with good work from Mark Heywood and Shooter putting in Crockford for the winning try. After their disappointing form in April, which saw them lose four matches on the trot, the United have now responded with two successive victories as they look to finish the season on a high note. Tenby United fielded: Neil Powling, Dai Merrick, Mark Heywood, Gavin Brace, Dan Shooter, Scott McLaughlin, Andrew Davies, Scott Payne, Mike Lewis, Simon Griffiths, Chris James, Wyndham Williams, Nicky Allen, Rob James, Anthony Griffiths. Subs: Gareth Edwards, Johnny Lane, Will Crockford, Alex Watt, Martin Bowen.
