Businesses in Pembroke Dock are due for an increase in consumer investment as value home and garden store, Wilkinson, prepares to open its doors to the public on Wednesday, April 30. The brand new, 10,500 sqft store will be based in the quieter, north part of Pembroke Dock, with the aim of encouraging local residents to shift their shopping habits and revive trade in this particular area of the town. As well and refreshing retail interest, the new store will create 79 new jobs at Pembroke Dock and bring unbeatable value for money to shoppers. New store manager Mike Flynn is eagerly awaiting the new store opening: "Pembroke Dock is an interesting maritime town; sitting within the warmly renowned 'Dolphin Coast' it provides a great tourist spot and local retail hub for residents. "We are looking forward to creating a buzz around the store with our unbeatable mix of popular brands and high quality 'Wilko' own brands. Hopefully this will also encourage trade for other local businesses in the northern part of the town." Currently, Wilkinson has 300 stores across the UK and serves 178 million customers each year, with plans to have 500 stores across the UK by 2012. Mike continued: "Our extensive range of everyday items for the home and garden, combined with our great value for money store ethic has made Wilkinson one of the fastest growing retailers in the country." Wilkinson sells more than 25,000 product lines and its high quality low-priced essential everyday products for all the family include kitchenware, household disposables, DIY decoration, food, confectionery and seasonal goods. Still a family owned firm after 75 years of trading, Wilkinson is committed to Britain's high streets and is an active supporter of local charities, community groups and care organisations.
