The west of Wales turned 'wild' again this week as Country and Western fans from all over the United Kingdom once again converged on Kiln Park, near Tenby, for their bi-annual Country and Western Festival.

The festival has been held at Kiln Park every April and September for at least 16 years, with the Westerners raising funds for charity with special fund-raising evenings through the week.

The week was an extra special one for Western fans, Harry and Lil Forman, of Birmingham, when Westerners held a special blessing ceremony at Tenby's St. Mary's Parish Church to mark their 59th wedding anniversary.

Led by the Stars and Stripes and the Stars and Bars, the couple, who were attending their ninth annual festival, and all their friends in full Western regalia and with six-guns slung, paraded from Tenby's Tourist Information Centre on The Croft to St. Mary's Church, where the Rector, Canon David Jenkins, performed the blessing.

A special reception followed at Tenby United Rugby Club in Upper Frog Street.

During their week-long stay, the Westerners were also shadowed by a documentary film crew from HTV who were filming the enthusiasts for a special programme, Western Wales, which will be broadcast later in the year.
