SPAN Arts presents Hijinx Theatre 'I Shot Buffalo Bill'‚ at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, on Tuesday, October 7 at 7.30 pm.

Wagons roll as Hijinx Theatre's latest production takes inspiration from the extraordinary showman, Buffalo Bill.

'I  Shot Buffalo Bill'‚ explores the impact that the incredible and  awe inspiring Wild West Roadshow had on three generations of a Cardiff family.

This fast moving, funny story will captivate the imagination as it interweaves the ordinary lives of a 1950s Welsh family with the larger than life characters from the world of the Wild West.

Billy is meeting his grandpa for the first time. Dai captivates the young boy with stories of life 'neath the starry sky', conjuring tales of Annie Oakley, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill.

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show visited Pembroke in 1903 and caused a sensation with Indian braves, covered wagons and rough riders parading through the town and camping out in nearby fields. It may be that a reader will have heard an older relative talk about this extraordinary event.

This remarkable and lively play was written by Paul Conroy especially for the company, with original music by Llinos Mai, who was brought up in Fishguard. Her family still live in Pembrokeshire.

It has all the usual Hijinx trademarks of a fascinating story, great music and a stunning set. Just what one has come to expect of this remarkable company who have been touring memorable theatre in Wales for 21 years.
